Surrounded by over 100 horses and ponies I was in my element!
I was lucky enough to spend a few hours with the Penny Ha’ Penny Horse & Pony rescue. Sue, Laura & a handful of volunteers care for over 100 horses and ponies in rural Worcestershire.
Sue has been caring for horses for over 30 years. The charity is there for unwanted, neglected, abandoned and abused equines from all backgrounds.
The horses are all truly very happy, healthy and loved. I am in awe of what Penny Ha’ Penny do.
I met some beautiful horses and ponies whose stories nearly had me in tears. I have no idea why people abuse and neglect animals and I never will. I’m only glad there are people like Sue & Laura to help and try and make them whole again.
Here is a selection of photos from the day. It wasn’t the best weather, but hopefully you will enjoy seeing these beautiful creatures.
To name just a few below, we have Charlie a stunning bay section D, Buster the beautiful, quite shy little chestnut roan and skewbald Taboo who is one of the Sling Lane ponies. You can read more about his story here.
